The Asian Scene After the success of her last presentation to the Ageing Asia Investment Forum in Singapore in April, the IMG/CCV Managing Director, Susan Malone, has been invited to the Retirement Living World Conference in Beijing, China from 24 to 27th of May. Susan will participate in a plenary panel which is comprised of two speakers from China, one from Hong Kong and herself which will discuss: How does the retirement industry move from "long term potential" to "attractive investment"?- Current challenges of investing in China's retirement assets
- How can retirement assets in China be packaged more attractively to the investment community.
- Assessing the most effective entry/exit strategies for private equity in China.
- What will gain a lenders support in the current market?
- Developing new facilities.
- Investing in retirement villages vs. commercial or residential properties: Pros and cons?
- Critical components of design and format that will produce successful retirement communities.
As well as this Susan has been asked to facilitate discussions at a half day workshop with investors wishing to enter the Retirement Living market in China. Susan will guide discussions, raise issues to be considered and provide insight into the Australian market. Following this Susan will present the findings of the workshop to the conference. The Australian experience in Retirement Village development and operations is highly regarded in China as that nation considers our product to among the best in the world. With changes taking place in social and family structures in China they are looking for new ways to provide services and facilities to their ageing population. They wish to learn from our experience and are looking for guidance and assistance from IMG /CCV to do so. |
